Context

For MARUF, I focused on the market section, experimenting with different combinations of visual elements inspired by nature to make the products more engaging. By incorporating these elements across various merchandise items, I was able to highlight the core theme of "Resilience & Beyond," bringing it to the forefront in a visually compelling way.

Process

  • Explored various natural and urban visual elements to combine them in a way that reflects the core message of the forum.
  • Created designs for merchandise items including tote bags, postcards, and notebooks, ensuring each product aligned with the theme and forum’s visual identity.

Ideation

While working under Baht Design, my primary task within the merchandise category was the notebook. I concentrated on creating designs specifically for the notebook, ensuring that the visual elements aligned with the theme and the urban aesthetic of the forum. By using these elements, I aimed to transform abstract shapes into more concrete, nature-inspired forms, adding depth and relevance to the designs.

Results

The final merchandise designs successfully contributed to the visual identity of the Marmara Urban Forum by reinforcing the event’s theme, “Resilience & Beyond.” By translating conceptual elements into familiar nature-inspired forms, the designs enhanced both the functional appeal and the thematic coherence of the products. These outcomes demonstrated how thoughtfully crafted visual elements can strengthen a brand’s message and increase public engagement through everyday items.
