Context
"Employe of the Month" marks my first experience with animation using illustration. The project involved a detailed process, including character design, narrative development, and the strategic planning of camera angles. Its goal was to craft a cohesive and engaging visual story. The work explores the use of visual metaphors, dynamic motion, and symbolism to portray a distinctive journey of self-realization.
Process
- Developed the initial story pitch and refined the narrative, establishing the core message and emotional arc of the animation.
- Determined the animation style, selecting a hand-drawn approach to enhance expressiveness and storytelling depth.
- Illustrated each frame and conducted detailed editing to ensure smooth transitions and consistent visual flow throughout the animation.
Story Pitch
Henrique, who describes himself as a workaholic, has been working for one of the most important technology companies in the country for years. One day, he encounters a parrot in the office. It is the first clue of unusual and meaningless events in the company.
